Music and Nature
My journey begins on November the 2th, 1988 in Créteil, the city which saw me born. At the age of 7, my father, musician and composer intiate me at the piano. Then at the age of 11, I'm admitted to Caen's Conservatory in percussion class and get my degree in music studies at 17 years old. The music school of Creteil in higher class of percussion welcomed me then, another diploma crowning this cycle.
This period is used to gain experience in orchestra, from the largest to the smallest formation: symphony orchestra and group experience as a drummer in various styles (jazz, rock, etc.).. Thus, meetings, parties or others, are opportunities for me to perform on large stages or in more private environment.
My progress in piano and percussion continues until the beginning of 2009, turning point for me. My decision is made to permanently leave the path of conservatories to engage in another way, felt deep within me ; the way of improvisation.
My research then turns to a music that could help people, heal, relieve, strengthen them, bringing them together.
Alain Besson (http://www.alainbesson.org/), Swiss pianist and conductor guide me in this quest.
During a course of Sound Yoga given by this musician in February 2009 in Lyon, I meet David Morand - President of the Association France-Rila (http://www.france-rila.fr/) - who makes me the great honor of inviting me to play piano at major international events for the Protection of Nature in Bulgaria. I decide then to move to Lyon where David lives.
The day of my arrival, David propose to me to play the next day during a media event. A few days later during the same meeting where I introduce an overview of the Sound Yoga of Alain Besson, different people sharing the same ideal (improving the world in all areas) are present, then I meet Roland Régli, who will also direct my way of life in another direction.
This man, working with crystals and music for the well-being of humans, had brought with him a singular and fascinating thing : the Ship of Light. (Le Vaisseau de Lumière, in french) (Http://www.laboutiquedanael.com/)
This is a device composed of a computer projecting colored light beams through a crystal. This ingenious device has, besides, the amazing ability to receive audio signals and turning them into rays of the color corresponding to the frequency of musical notes. We can literally see music in color! ...
This meeting was very rich, and from that moment my life began to take a much deeper meaning, for the merger of our capabilities gives magical results ... The decision was made to set up projects of concert-lecture, piano and Ship of Light.
Later, David Morand called me and propose to go with him on a trip to Bulgaria to make artistic and ecological actions and also visit its beautiful mountains.
We leave on August, the 3rd to return to France on the 21th.
During our visit of Sofia, Bulgarian capital, we discover a fantastic museum, the Museum of Earth and Man, where are stored precious stones of an extraordinary size and quality. ... And, there was also six grand pianos. We decide then to schedule a piano concert for the 19 of August at 8pm, in the museum to demonstrate for the protection of the Rila National Park.
The 19, back from Rila -this paradisiac and inspiring mountain- I improvise in the museum during about an hour in front of more than 150 people.
It was an unforgettable moment in my stage experience. And my gratitude goes to David who, by his intelligence, his quickness, managed to organize, in two days, this concert, making advertising and some administrative procedures. My gratitude goes also to Néli Arabadjéva, a Bulgarian woman, remarkable for her selflessness and gentleness, a woman of value, which made the paperwork to the museum, and contacted the press, which allowed us to have so much public in such a short time. Thank you to Cecile for its beautiful pictures of the concert.
This journey in Bulgaria, Rila and the museum, will remain engraved in my memory forever.
A month later, on September the 30th, I gave a lecture-concert with Roland Régli and his Ships of Light, in Mulhouse. The public response was truly moving, because people, each differently expressed how music and the light from the crystals had reached deep into their whole inner being.
Two years later, during the summer of 2011, I decide to return to Bulgaria, rise again to Rila, to ressource myself and contemplate the extraordinary, mystic beauty of the mountains and the lakes...
A concert is also organized, with the precious and admirable help of Neli Arabadjéva, on August 31st, in the Earth and Man's museum, always with the aim of making listen to the humanity the voice of Nature, so that She be protected, respected and so that Her sacred dimension be recognized.
Thus, again, and more than the first time, this concert was an unforgettable stage experience, and an opportunity for me to express myslelf completely through music, to live my passion.
So, my music repertoire is now completely improvised. I play on the spur of the moment. My music is of course different each time (though we can detect in it influences of classical music because I have also worked pieces of Chopin, Liszt, Beethoven ...).
So I improvise in the moment, a music that will produce on the audience an effect of deep relaxation, regeneration, restoration, and will restore all the moral forces it needs to perform its daily tasks!
